Whether you’re new to strength training routines or you’ve been building your muscles for years, you know there’s always something new to learn.
You can challenge your body with something new every day and never run out.
In fact, you get a better, longer, more intense workout if you master two important concepts: switching it up and cooling down.
Whenever you perform a real muscular exercise, you’re asking your body to push further than it can go.
This breaks down tissue, which re-builds stronger and better.
That means you have to strike the right balance between intense effort and a thorough cooling off.
When you’re figuring out your strength training routines, you have to give yourself enough variety to keep your body from getting bored.
It’s true! All right, your body doesn’t literally get bored, but your muscles get used to major repetitions of the same exercise.
Less energy and less effort get used as you go deeper into a workout, unless you add more weight or switch up what you’re asking.
Since adding too much weight too soon can lead to injury, it’s often faster and easier to change up the exercises you’re doing.
Strength Training Routines – Hammer Your Way To Getting Stronger
Equipment like a kettlebell or sledgehammer, can help.
The other important thing to remember in strength training routines is this: strength training isn’t cardio!
If you’ve got healthy, functioning muscles, you can practically do cardio all day, every day without too much worry.
Strength training is never like that.
Because of what it does to build up your body, it inherently demands downtime from you.
Not only that, but the deeper you go into it, the more you’ll see the benefit from eating clean and green.
If you don’t fuel your body, there’s no way you’ll build muscles in the long term, even if you work at it 4-5 days a week.
Lots of people go into their first strength training routines with the idea it’s like cardio.
At best, that won’t get you ripped.
At worst, it can actually get you hurt.
Don’t get torn down!
